Acupuncture is the stimulation of a certain point, or points, near the surface of the body by the insertion of needles, to prevent or modify the perception of pain, or to normalize physiological functions, for the treatment of certain diseases or dysfunctions of the body.
Acupuncture can have good results in treating excessive smoking, alcoholism, drug addiction, many types of nervous disorders and obesity. Dr. Chou specializes in pain management, acupuncture, general medicine, drug addiction, weight control, Chinese herbs, Tai-Chi and Qi-Gong. He is one of a few acupuncturists, as well as medical doctor, in the area.
